About me

I am a Lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Cape Town (UCT). At UCT, I co-direct the Advanced Machines Energy Systems (AMES) group. I have a Ph.D. and MSc in Electrical Engineering from UCT and an undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, UK. I am currently the chapter chair of the IEEE IAS/IES/PELS Combined SA Chapter. I am passionate about outreach activities and promoting electrical engineering to previously disadvantaged and underrepresented groups.                                                                                                                                                        My current research projects are in the broad areas of power electronics,  power systems, renewable energy applications, wireless power transfer technology, and electromagnetic energy robotics. As a lecturer, I enjoy creating innovative teaching methods to facilitate understanding engineering concepts and their practical usage. I am truly blessed to pursue my dream job. In a nutshell,"A happy academic! 😊"                                                                                                                            Oh wait, I love hiking and composing music leisurely. 😉
